my 3-year-old daughter is crazy about boys already!

(submitted anonymously) My daughter is 3 years old and boy crazy already. Even from 4-5 months, as soon as she was done breastfeeding with mom, she would basically be looking for me. When her male cousin would come over, she would follow him non-stop with her eyes. Now, she's 3 and all of her friends are boys. She "protects" the boys in her class from the "mean older girls." At her last birthday party, she hitched her arm with this 8-year-old boy and kept say, "Josh is my very favorite!" What do I do with this kid? I'm getting a little worried - do I really have anything to worry about? Anyone else deal with this kind of stuff?

I have two daughters and both played with boys. My 9 yr. old started playing hockey with boys, but is now part of a girls team. My 6 yr. old has some she chats with on the play ground, but none that really get all her attention. I would bet your daughter is figuring out who she is - shows you are a positive influence on her.
Cheers,
Toby

I'm right there with you. Describes my almost 4-year old perfectly. Her best friends are boys and she definitely prefers to play with boys at the playground.
It is what it is I tell myself.
