Kids room ideas

tony's picture

I got the final okay from the wife to take our "dining room" and use it as a kids room for the next 5-10 years.  Any ideas for what I could do to the room to make it a place for my kids to grow, discover, learn new things, etc?

Learning Names

OK, so our latest discovery has my wife and I shaking our heads. We have identical twin boys and we knew from the beginning not to just call them "the boys" or "the twins", so that they could hear their names and gain their own identities...or so we thought.

How do kids learn?

After a week with my parents (and them coming to the conclusion that our tot is a genius), we had lots of discussions about how best to help our little 2-year-old develop/learn/grow/be stimulated heathily.  Honestly, it seems to come down to thoughtful attention - playing with them and also watching them figure out how to play by themselves. But how do we really know if our kids are developing well?  And I've heard lots of parents are getting into this "unschooling" concept?
